Kai ends this month 3 whole months old, weighing 16 pounds, and 25 inches long. He truly is a little chunker.
This has been a great month. We have had many adventures and visitors. My sister came out and had a jewelry show in Crested Butte. We had our first trip as a family down there. Then my mom and I went down to the Boulder area and stayed in a beautiful cabin in Allenspark, just outside of the Rocky Mountain Natl. Park. It was while staying there that I saw the fireball. Kai and I were sleeping in a room that was all windows. At 4:15 in the morning Kai woke up crying. When I opened my eyes the whole room was lit up with super bright white light. I thought this strange since we were way out in the country, away from any cities or roads. When I looked out the window I saw this orange and red ball of fire with a super long tail trailing across the sky. In my excitement, I couldn't go back to sleep thinking I might see another one. I thought for sure it would be on the news the next day, but I found nothing. I looked on the internet at all sorts of meteor shower pics and finally saw this one and was so excited to show people what I had seen. I thank Kai for waking me up for such a spectacular site.
As you will see from our pictures, we went on our first camping trip. Some girlfriends and I rented a Yurt in Eagle, CO. We were also visited by Kai's Nana and Uncle Erik.
We are doing great as a family. The weather is still hot but Kai and I are getting out for more hikes. He is a little trooper. We are sending you all lots of love from the Rockies.
