John Ray opening an egg for Oliver.
Kai opening all his loot! This boy got it this year. He looked around and saw most of the eggs and was off collecting before Solomon and Oliver even knew what was going on.

Having a BLAST at the Nature and Science Museum in Denver!

This was a cool way to pass time in the Houston airport. They had a touch activated tanagram screen to play with.
Okay, this is one of those weird sites. We are waiting here for our plan in Guatemala. This line of workers goes out and I think they are going to guide the plane in. No, they are armed with brooms and dust pans. They went out to sweep the parking area for the plane. Wow!!!
Kai is always making friends. This is one who had a little stall where he sold things along one of the paths we took daily. In some ways I am glad Kai cannot yet speak Spanish. Some of the people we would see on our daily jaunts around would have a blind eye, missing legs, lots of rotten teeth, etc. and Kai would NOT hesitate to go up to them and strike up a conversation with them asking them why they had no teeth, a "sick eye", no legs, etc. Since they didn't know what he was saying, they would just smile and pat him. One guy outside the airport was in a wheelchair, missing both legs. Kai got down on the ground and was looking under his chair and lifting up the cloth hanging from the guys stump sayi
This is a lady we bought mangoes and bananas from. For some reason, every time we saw her, Kai would pet her head. She thought it was funny and on this day, pet him back.
Isaac at the lake
Steps out of the lake for swimmers.
This is a dock that people jump off of into the lake. Kai was asking everyone to jump and he would count for them to jump in.
Unchi and the boys.
Fishing boats.
We were sitting next to this lady on the boat and she fell in love with Isaac. The love was returned as you can see.
Unchi shopping in Panajachel

Rasta boy!

Cata and the boys!

Getting on board!
Waiting for the boat to Panajachel.
Grounds of Escuela Caracol. The school flew me down to Guatemala to assess their students, mentor teachers and give workshops to the parents. It was a lot of work, but such a great experience. I hope to be able to return and do more work with them. The school is literally a 1-2 min. walk from my dad's house. Pretty serendipitous.http://www.escuelacaracol.org/Home.html
The grounds of Escuela Caracol. Here you can see the kindergarten and the rabbit hutch.
The kindergarten at Escuela Caracol
Abuelo and Isaac!
Kai eating an afternoon snack of watermelon with my dad's dog Max. Oh, we were so spoiled by the fresh fruit every day.
Abuelo's house
View from Abuelo's porch.
My dad has this picture hanging on his wall in the house. Kai looked at it and said, "Mama look, it's Saint God!" I asked him who told him that and he said no one. Where he comes up with these things beats me. But he is right, she is like Saint God!
The Catholics were preparing for Semana Santa (Holy week). They walked to stations decorated with flower pedals.

Abuelo's restaurant. Blind Lemons. If you are ever in San Marcos, check it out. http://blindlemons.com/
This is a picture of Isaac taking his nap. Lucky boy took his naps here every day under the bougainvillea.
Playing with the bunnies at the Escuela Caracol
This spiral is at Escuela Caracol. This is where the teachers meet every morning to say a daily verse and sing together.
Kai scouting his climb up the tree and vines.
Yummy, fresh coconut water.
Mama and Isaac!
The littlest Jackson love Guatemala too. So nice not to have to bundle up so much.
A fisherman
Climbing a ladder. The beaches are gone this year due to a 10 foot rise in the lake. The ladder is one way down to the water's edge. We took the easier route down a little bank, but of course my climber boy needed to climb.
At the lake
Tree Climbing
One of my dad's friends asked Kai if he spoke Spanish. Kai responded, "No, I speak regular."
Lago de Atitlan and the Volcanos
Couldn't you just kiss these cheeks right off?
A real Tuk-tuk. Kai loved these little motorcycle taxis.

A turtle jungle gym.
Kai loved the playground in San Marcos. A little scary for the parents. This was a merry-go-round that used to have 5 bars to hold on to. Only one was left and it was even breaking loose. A local boy was giving Kai a fast go around.
Taking the boat back to San Marcos after a day in Pana. Kai got a toy Tuk, Tuk.
T-Rex, Kai and Unchi.
Kai loved all the masks.
Boat Dock in Panajachel.
Boat ride to Panajachel. A big highlight for Kai.
Hiking to the lake.
Fountain Love. Couldn't keep the boy out of them!
Listening to Abuelo playing the guitar. A favorite thing to do while passing the time. Kai really wants to learn to play the banjo after seeing a picture of one in Abuelo's magazine.
Houston Airport. Off to Guatemala. Kai got us a ride by going up to this guy and saying, "Hey, What is your name? What are you doing?" This guy LOVES his job and took us for a true joy ride and showed us the sites of the airport. Kai loved it.
All the following pictures are taken in Sante Fe. The boys and I drove down to see my mom and my sister Jessica flew down from Jackson Hole to hang out. We love Sante Fe.

We were eating at our favorite breakfast place in Carbondale and Kai looked out the window and said, "Are those potty chairs?" Jeff and I looked out the window and didn't see any potties. Kai said, "There on the signs." We laughed and saw he was looking at the handicapped parking signs. They really do look like potty chairs :)
