As you can see by this blog, I have been having a lot of fun with my new itouch, a very generous Christmas gift from my brother in law. It has been so much fun playing with all the camera apps and taking some really fun pics. Despite the lack of new snow, we have still been having a good time going on hikes, Kai getting up on cross country skis for the first time, and going on sleigh rides.
Speaking of snow, the other day Kai was stomping down the front steps of the house and there was snow on them. He said, "Mama, I shouldn't stomp on the snow because it is a living thing right?" I took a moment and thought about what he was getting at and said, "It's okay to stomp on it, it isn't a living thing and you can't hurt it." He replied, "But, it falls from the sky so its a living thing, right." The conversation went on a bit from there and was very interesting to watch his thought process. It continually amazes me how the young mind works.
Isaac continues to grow like a weed and is the most happy and content baby I know. What a sweetie!
Our beloved dog Badger has survived, but was hit by a semi a week and a half ago. Only a jack russell could do that! He suffers from a little limp due to a chipped hip bone. The days after the hit were scary and messy and we weren't so sure he would make it, but our little guy pulled through!
Wishing you all a wonderful February.
Love,
The Jacksons

Spider Man climbing up boulders and back down!
Kai made up his own superhero - spider rocket man! Note the rockets on his PJs.
I really can't say why I love these so much, but this sequence of pictures makes me smile. Kai is being a doctor. He insisted that he wear that thing on his head, because doctors do. I'm not sure where he saw that. This boy loves to doctor!

Kai's first time on skis.
Dragon Fire!
This is our Gerber Baby!

Off on a snowy hike!

Eggs from our chicks. Our fine ladies gift us with 6-7 eggs a morning. What a treat!
Mount Sopris. We live at the base of the second summit (on the right) you see there.
This tree branch and the small clump next to it has been named "Craby" by Kai. The one he is on in the picture is his digger. When we go out on our adventure, Kai always wants to stop and say hi to Crabby. He also always has quite long and elaborate conversations with this old friend.
Behind our house, we have trails on BLM land and one of the trails is decorated for the season. We call it ornament trail and try to find all the ornaments hung out for our enjoyment.

Super snowy sleigh ride.
Sleigh ride with friend Carla, mama, Kai and Isaac.
