I am boy and I like my books! It is hard to believe this little guy is almost 1 whole year old. This year flew by. He is 20 pounds of scrumptious goodness.

The first few days of school, Kai discovered how to roll down a hill. This is how I would find him everyday for the first week of school. I would watch him for 20-30min. before I would finally tell him it was time to go home. In this picture, he is rolling/tumbling with his friend Henjay.

The sign for the whole school.

When we walked through the kindergarten gate, Kai walked up to Ms. Rachel, his teacher, and gave her the flowers and hugged her. So dog gone cute. She came over to our house, as she does with all her students, for a home visit before school started. When we were having a little snack together, Kai turned to me and asked, "Mama, is Ms. Rachel really pretty?" Look out!

This was amazing. We had just walked into the playground 2 min. prior and Kai hugged his teacher and then she went and rang the bell and without saying a word of goodbye to me, he lined up (how he knew how to do that, I don't know) and he walked right into the building without a wave or anything. He was ready. I have to say I cried after he got into the building. I wasn't expecting it to be so emotional for me. It is huge to watch your little guy start something so big. It is also interesting to be on the other side - a parent rather than a teacher. It's a whole other ball game.

Kai's cubby. Rather than names on their cubbies, they have symbols. His symbol is the mountains.

On our way back from Durango, we stopped at an organic orchard and picked pears and peaches. Yummy cobbler, sauce and butter on the way!
