Happy Almost Spring.  We have certainly had some beautiful spring days here in Colorado and welcomed them .  We also welcome the snow and rain as it continues to come, remembering how dry it was last year.  We hope our rivers will be flowing this summer and that fire danger will be low.
As always, these past few months have been very full.  We have enjoyed playing in the snow, making forts and caves, sledding and going on snow hikes.  Now that the weather is warming, we are enjoying stomping in puddles and playing in the mud.
The boys and I took a week break from winter and flew to Sarasota, FL and enjoyed time at the beach.  What a treat it was not to have to put layer upon layer of clothing on.  The boys LOVED it.  Beach time is a must at least once a year.  We were able to spend time with my mom, who is down in FL. helping my grandma with my grandpa and, of course, my grandparents.  That is always a treat and I feel lucky that my boys get to know their great grandparents.
This month I participated in our local, Green is the New Black Fashion Show
which was an absolute blast.  I feel blessed to live in such an awesomely, creative community.
We are looking forward to getting our garden going.  Our chickens are clucking away and giving us yummy eggs every morning.  Sadly, we lost one of our bee hives last week due to a spike in temps. and then a drop.  We are in the process of harvesting the honey from that hive.  Our second hive is doing well and we pray they make it through this crazy hot/cold spell.  Fingers crossed.
As always, the boys have some pretty memorable things they say.  Enjoy and Happy Spring to you and your families.
Isaac burped  and said, "That was a fart in my mouth."
Kai - "So Mama, you know how the sky is above the earth and space is above the sky?  What is above space?"
"Mama, What is army?, I just don't understand."
Me- "I don't really understand it either."
Kai - "Just tell me what you DO know."
Me- "Hmm, I just wonder the same things you do."
Kai - "Yeah, I wonder those things just like you."

Kai and Isaac enjoying an afternoon of cross country skiing.  They both are getting the hang of it.

Our town's Mardi Gras Parade!

We went all out for Valentine's this year.  We had heart bacon and heart french toast for breakfast, we made hand sized heart cherry pies for our teachers and made heart pizza for dinner.  What a fun day.

Never a day goes by without dressing up.
Off to Sarasota.  Yahoo!  Beach and sun!

The boys got to hang out with their cousin Cameron and great grandparents.  Isaac had a little love fest with Great grandpa going.  He wanted to snug him and be around him all the time.  Super cute.

A family of red sandhill cranes came to say hello in front of my grandparents house.
Kai is not a shy guy.  He befriends everyone.  One night he went up to a docked boat and started talking to the people about all the diving tanks and suits they had and they showed him around the boat.  They also showed him the collection of fossils they had found that day diving and gave him the HUGE shark tooth shown above this picture.  LUCKY boy.  In the picture directly above, he made friends with a Sharkie.  Her name is Leslie and she hunts for shark teeth to sell in a store up in Michigan.  She let Kai tag along with her for a couple of hours.  Kai had a blast as you can tell.

Both boys wore themselves out every day and Isaac always passed out the minute we got back to my grandparents road. Pretty darn cute.

Gettin' my fashion on with some other ladies in the show.  Our hair was too much fun!

I took this picture below in awe of Nature's Glitter :)
