Okay Folks, I have tried to post this posting since the end of October. The above date proves I have been working on this since then. For the record, it is Dec. 4th. For some reason I have had a terrible time uploading photos at home and the internet at school has been super spotty and I just now got the photos to load. Holy Moly! Well, there has been other stuff going on too. From the week before Halloween to Thanksgiving, I stepped in as the interim 6th grade teacher and co-taught a business math block and then taught a Roman History Block on my own. I was quickly reminded of the amount of work involved in being a class teacher - especially a middle school teacher where essays need to be corrected. After I finished those blocks, it was time for our yearly Winterfaire at the school. I always sell things I make there to get a little extra income for the holiday season. That took place this Saturday and went fairly well. Now, I have an out-breath! Whew!!!
The boys have been great. As you can see they are growing so quickly. I will let the pics tell about our past couple months. Isaac is now standing and holding on to things to walk. He stopped the commando crawl on his birthday and began crawling on all fours. The gate blocking the stairs has come down and he is cruising up and down them. He is also so close to weaning. Yesterday and last night was the first time he went without nursing. Way to go!!!
He is communicating up a storm. He laughs constantly and smiles even more. He is a joy.
Kai is at such a sweet stage. He is a bundle of constant energy and interested in everything. He continues to love to read, hike, play pretend (and he gives the scenario and characters we all have to be) and dress up.
Funny things Kai has said:
This was Halloween night. "When I close my eyes, I see all the monster make-up faces and EVEN candy corn streaming out of my head."
He also read a book that mentioned the solar system and when trying to recall it, he called it the septic system.
It is now super cold. It snowed the other day for the first time in a long time and I don't think it is going anywhere now. We got the tree up and Kai is very excited about Christmas time.
Wishing you all warmth and love. I will try to be quicker on the posting next time.
Love,
The Jacksons
Kai's very first time trick-or-treating. He got the hang of it very quickly. Halloween is probably Kai's very favorite celebration. This boy lives to dress-up.
Looking a little like the Adam's family.
Hungry Turtle.

Carving Pumpkins.

At the pumpkin Patch.

Little aprons I made to sell at a local artist collective.

Happy first Birthday little guy. 10/10/10 was a magic day!
This sequence of pictures is priceless. Here, Isaac is content and eating his cake. Before this the cake was brought to him. He knew it was his and was very excited. When it was taken away to be cut, he broke down until it was brought back.

Birthday dinner with all the friends. This dinner included two other families, both with two boys. Dinner included 6 boys!

Favorite way to pass time in the kitchen.
Kai found a wooly worm.
Picking rose hips for tea.
Out for a walk.
Oops, this one got out of sequence. Little birthday guy.
Working in the garden.

Police man.
I can feed myself.

St. Michael.

Mama's birthday hike. The weather and colors were gorgeous. The best gift of all was that Jeff and I got to spend 8 straight hours together, without kids. We hiked to the top of Mt. Sopris. What a day! 13 miles and up to just below 13,000 feet.

My beautiful birthday cake. Lovingly made by my friend Heather. The carrots of made of marzipan.

Maroon Bells- hike over to Crested Butte with my friends. I did this the weekend before my birthday. Jeff watched the boys and met me over in Crested Butte to pick me up.
Canning pickles and apple butter.
These got all out of sequence. Mama and baby bear. Hike to Crested Butte.
