Happy Spring to all of you. Spring has sprung and it sprang early. We have been enjoying cold mornings and very warm days. The bees are out, the chickens are happy and we have started our seeds for the garden.
The boys are enjoying each other so much and have really learned to play so nicely. Isaac is growing and changing so much. His vocabulary has exploded. His favoritewords are: hot, cold, ball, Isaac (which sounds like I-seeek), Kai (said perfectly), boa for boat, baboo for river, shoe and foo for food. Oh yes, and "Oh Boy!" He is a cutie and loving to talk. His favorite way to pass the time is by riding his bike or dig, dig, digging in the sandbox. He loves to be outside and really enjoys his big brother's company.
Kai has really enjoyed having a 2 week spring break. As much as he LOVES school, there is nothing he loves better than having a PJ day and reading books and playing with legos. Actually he loves going outside and playing too, but he wants to keep his PJs on . He loves all things scarey - monsters, ghosts, zombies, Halloween. He recently found a book at the library about Medusa and took to that like a fly on....well you know! He loves hearing Jeff's stories about super heros. I am thinking that is going to be the theme for his birthday. He was really born in the wrong month to have a Halloween themed party. I guess that never stopped anyone.
Jeff is training for 1 of possibly 3 trips to Europe, where he and a buddy are doing a series with the Discovery Channel on demystifying the 6 main north faces of the alps. Yep, 6! Jeff and his friend Duane will climb the 6 main north faces and be filmed. We will keep you posted on that front.
I am currently busy doing my remedial work as well as teaching 6th grade physics which is turning out to be a lot of fun.
Wishing you all well. Hugs from sunny Colorado!
We will leave you with quotes from Kai.
January - "You know what mama? B is a letter and it is an animal too. Isn't that funny?"
February - After visiting the fire station Kai said this. "You know I'm special? I'm magic because when I say I want to do a fun thing, it happens. I'm magic...I'm going to grow up..I really am because I said I would. That's magic right?
During dinner one night Kai said this. "Papa, is that shrimp dead that you are eating?"
Jeff- Yes, everything we eat is dead.
Kai - Like turkey, chicken, fish, rooster?
Mama - Bacon, Ham
Kai - What is bacon and ham? (meaning what animal)
Mama - Pig
Kai - WHAT? I LOVE to eat pig, especially bacon.
Kai - How about sausage? What is that made of?
Mama- Turkey, chicken, pig.
Kai - Even veggies, except veggies aren't animals, they grow...like in our garden.

"Mama, how do you know so MUCH?....because you are a teacher?"

Kai- I'm going to live with you forever.
Mama - When you are a man you can live in your own house, but you can live with us for as long as you want?
Kai - I know! How about I can be your neighbor?

One morning I woke up and came upstairs and Kai woke up and told me, "Mama you left two lights on in the kitchen. You are wasting batteries!" (He had gotten up to turn them off)

At school the children sit on the bench at their cubbies and cross their arms on their chest to show they are ready to be dismissed or ready for class. Kai said to his teacher, "When I have my hands like this, I can feel my heart and it makes me think of my mama and papa."

March
"I love Isaac as much as the stars shine down, the sun shines down, and the planets and the sky circle around." Keep in mind this was said in a rhythm. Kai's first poem.

Until next time, lots of love.
Hannah, Jeff, Kai and Isaac.

Enjoying the treasures found during the Easter egg hunt.
This is Ms. Heidi. She is Isaac's amazing daycare provider.
Papa and Isaac. Isaac is wearing a shirt that was Jeff's when he was little. Pretty cool.
Waiting to be released out the gate to hunt eggs.

Whoa, a mustached bunny!
Little peanut butter bunnies for the party.
Easter Egg Hunt
Isaac has a great fascination for boats. He got a tugboat for Easter. One of his favorite books is called Scuffy - a lovely Golden Book about the adventures of a red painted tugboat.

These are paper mache eggs I made as party favors for the Easter party. Really fun and filled with lots of goodies.

Yum, bunny for breakfast!
Blue eyes
Give this boy a bike of any kind and he is one happy camper.

Nana sent Kai various mustache stickers. You can tell he loves them.
Okay, truly one of the cutest kids ever! He loves to wear a hat and had just put this one on.
Nakey bike riding bros and sunbathing in March!!!

The other day I looked over to see Kai "painting" the sandbox with a piece of burnt wood. He also seemed to rub his eye perfectly to look like a black eye.
Okay, really now! I saw this at the airport getting ready to go through TSA in NYC. How many people really travel with their snow globes? Enough to warrant a sign obviously.
The weather here has been frighteningly warm - 70's - hmmm, something is up.
Last week I was able to go visit my grandmother Gloria. What a magical, special time we had.

Dig, dig, dig and vroom, vroom, vroom.

Kai is fascinated with all things scarey. I saw this gargoyle at the Denver Airport and took a picture of it for him. Oh my goodness, he got a huge kick out of this.
Proud Cowboy biker.

My cowboys. Note Kai's outfit. He came in the kitchen with this get-up. He found a stick outside for a "gun" and the grass. He said, "Look Mama, I'm a REAL cowboy."
