Dear Friends and Family.
Today is Kai's 8 month birthday. Time sure does fly. I can't believe he is so close to 1 whole year old. Kai continues to commando crawl around. He loves to pull up on things, enough to sort of go up and down on his bottom, as if he were riding a horse. He plays with the dog by getting the dog's bone or toy and holding it up for Badger to get. He loves his food. He is curious and wants to explore everything in the house. He now has 5 1/2 teeth!
Kai eagerly awaits his newest friend, baby Gardner (parents - Meg and Jon Ray), who will possibly be born today. Baby Gardner is working hard to come into this world and has been trying since 2:10 this morning. Come on baby Gardner, we are all cheering for you and look forward to meeting you!
We are sending you all a warm wintery hug. If you need a dose of snow, come on out for a visit.
Love the Jackson family!

Daisy Mae and Kai at the Pine Creek Cook House
This is a restaurant that can only be accessed by sleigh ride, ski- in or walk in. This day my friend Valery and I decided to walk in. It was full on blizzard and as you can see Kai's cheeks suffered some. They are still recovering 2 weeks later. Poor baby!
Daisy 21 months, Kai 7 1/2 months, Wren 6

One of Kai's favorite things to do now is to take all the CDs off the shelf.

This was taken this morning on Kai's 8 month birthday.
Jupiter Blue Moon strikes again!

Kai loves to do pull-ups.
Hmm. Will he be a climber?

Or perhaps a gymnist? Kai is flipping upside down.
Bath Time!!
The creek in front of our house.
Kai doesn't really like or get the bottle, but he loves his cup and he is getting quite good at drinking out of it.
Badger wondering if we will get even more snow.
Yep! Swimming in Snow!
Yum, sweet potato to decorate my face and match my hat.
Sleeping baby out for a ski in his new ski suit from his grandpa Nouri.
The forecast...Snow, snow accumulation, blowing snow and more snow.

Happy New Year!!!
I hope this finds you all well and happy. I also hope that you all had wonderful holidays and that the New Year is off to a good start for you. As always, the Jackson clan had a very eventful month.
We were sad that Aunt Jess and Uncle Ash couldn't make it down for a visit due to winter storms. We hope they will visit soon.
On his 6th month birthday, Kai got two more teeth (the top front). He learned the commando crawl on Christmas day and LOOK OUT, he is into everything and getting faster by the day.
We had a wonderful Pre-Christmas celebration with Unchi before we all left town. Unchi gave Kai his first cowboy boots and boy, are they cool!
Jeff and I went to Texas for Christmas. We spent 6 days with Jeff's parents and brother, Erik. We then rented a car and drove down to Austin to stay at our place there. We had a big party and were so happy to see all of our friends. Kai met everyone, including some of my old students, who are pictured below.
We had an eventful plane ride home the day before New Years due to winter storms. A 2 hour flight turned into a 6+ hour trip home. Kai was a trooper. He did, however, have the most forceful, gigantic poop as we landed and it came up out of his diaper all the way to his neck. Lucky for us and unlucky for the plane full of people, we taxied for about an hour so we were able to carefully change and clean up the little guy. By the way, many of the passengers came up to us in baggage claim and voted Kai the number one baby for the day for how good he was.
We are all doing well. Kai brings so much joy into our lives and days. I start back to work next week part time. Our good friend Julie will be here at the house with Kai.
Kai is now 7 months old, 20-21lbs and around 28inches long. He is a big boy!
Wishing you all joy as we enter into 2008! Love to you and your families,
Hannah, Jeff, Kai and Badger
