Kai waited in anticipation to see where we were off to next. As long as an airplane was involved, he had no problem waiting to see.

When I told him we were going to Guatemala to meet his Abuelo and Aunt Becky, he got even more excited.

From the airport we had a long drive until finally we saw the volcanoes and lake. We knew we were close to seeing Abuelo and Becky.

As soon as we got out of the van, Kai played in the fountain at Abuelo's restaurant, Blind Lemons, and drank a big smoothie!

While we were in Guatemala we......

Went swimming and played on the beach.

Hung out at Abuelo's house and picked fruit off the trees, played guitar, and sat by the fire.

We took a boat ride to Pana and went shopping for gifts with Becky, Cata, Abuelo and mama and...

Visited a really fun school called the Escuela Caracol, a Waldorf school like my mama works at. You can see more about this school at www.EscuelaCaracol.org

I loved Guatemala and hope to go back sooner than later and learn how to speak Spanish.

Kai pretending he is Badger and drinking from his bowl. Don't worry, I quickly took the picture and then told him that was for Badger and not little boys.

These past two months have been so much fun with Kai, well for the most part. He has definitely entered into the phase of testing and saying NO. But for the most part he has been a joy. He is changing so much so quickly. He decided on his own that he was ready to use the potty. I put one in the bathroom for him and each time Jeff and I go, Kai wants to use his. He pees almost every time he sits and has pooped 4 times!!! He loves to read stories on the potty, so sometimes we just sit there reading. It gets long after a while, but I have to remind myself that he is enjoying this and it may lead to easier potty training.
In general Kai LOVES to read. He wants to read as soon as he gets up, while he eats breakfast, many times during the day, drinking his night time bottle, and then again after he brushes his teeth and is ready for bed. He picks out the book he wants and is very particular about what he wants.
He can say, "yeah" when he agrees or wants what you ask, and say a clear "no" if it is not what he wants.
He is always singing or rather humming. His favorite tune is Twinkle, Twinkle. He sings when he first wakes up. It always makes Jeff and I laugh while we lay there in bed and wake up. Kai can even play Twinkle, Twinkle on the kazoo. Check out the video below. Kai's favorite songs to listen to are: Puff the Magic Dragon, Mary had a little lamb, and Riding in your car, car. He calls the last one the boomy song. Boomy means anything with wheels.
Kai runs wherever he goes. His favorite thing to do is swing on his swing in his room naked.
He is talking up a storm and starting to repeat words we say and putting two words together. What an amazing process to watch.

Kai yet again imitating Badger. This time licking the wall. Badger likes to chase light reflections and there was one on the wall at this moment.
