Happy August Dear Friends and Family.  We hope this finds you all well and enjoying the last weeks of summer.  It is hard to believe that summer is almost at its end and that school is about to start.  We have had a fun summer.  We hope you enjoy these pictures showing you our latest adventures.
Sending you all love,
Hannah and all the boys!
4th of July Parade in Redstone, CO.  The boys rode their bikes in the parade and had a blast!

4th of July yumminess!
Folly Beach.  Outside of Charleston, SC.  My sisters and I rented a house here for a week.  The girls and their kids.  It was a blast and my boys LOVE the beach!

Isaac owned the beach.  It was his and he felt a little too at ease.  No fear of the water.  He loved swimming and watching the birds.

My great friend Beth.  We were in a post graduate program together.
 My friend Sylvia.

Super Kai.  Beth brought some old tee-shirts and made superhero outfits for the boys.

Early morning beach time.  Last day :(
At the Rodeo for the 2nd time.  Unfortunately they only allow 10 kiddos to mutton bust each time and they were all full.  So Kai did the calf scramble.  Object was to be the first child to snag a ribbon of one of 5 calves tails and run back to the rodeo queen.

Lining up for the calf scramble
That child in brown behind all the others would be Kai.  He had no clue where he was to go, but clearly had a blast.
Mountain Fair.  Our town's biggest summer celebration.
 First corn dog.
Yum.  Mango cut to look like a flower and put on a stick.
Making paint spin shirts.  Isaac watched Kai make one and then immediately climbed up the little step stool and chose his color.  He knew exactly what to do.

 Wren and Daisy.
 Playing in the rain.
Reading and....well....pooping.  Isaac has taken it upon himself to potty train.  He is so good.  He is about there and almost always tells us when he needs to go.  Even when driving in the car or flying on the plane.  Yeah!!
 Sitting morning meditation with papa
Trying on mama's tutu for size

Kai decided to make some dandelion tea with the flowers and curly cues with the stems.
 Watch Dog
First real ice cream in a cone.  Kai asked if he could eat the cone.  There is no turning back now.

Isaac knew exactly what to do.
Picking apricots.  We made apricot, ginger, rosemary jam and apricot chutney.  Yummy.

Look carefully.  I about picked this peach and stopped to see what in the world was up with the peach.  Sitting on the peach was a humming bird's nest with 2 birds.  I imagine babies were in their too.  So very special.

Denver Triathlon for the Cure.  This year I decided to do it in style and made my own tutu.  My friend Katy and her mother joined me in the fun.

Photo op at 6am!  Why not?

This tutu helped me.  For reals you all!  I got more cheers from spectators and racers alike.  I think it gave me speed. I finished 6 min. faster than last year.  Wooohooo!   At one point I looked at my shadow while racing on my bike and thought I looked an awful lot like an ostrich.
 My friend Liisa and I.
 My transition area.
Finished in 1hour and 34 min.  Many thanks to my dear friend Sharon who drove down from Boulder to help me with the boys while I did the Tri.  Jeff was at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City.

After the Tri I took the boys to the Denver Zoo.  Always so much fun.
In order for the boys to sleep, they had to be separated so they would not play and keep each other up in our hotel room.  Kai had a cozy little spot in the closet.
Following our trip to Denver, we drove down to the Crestone area and went to some really wonderful hot springs.  Valley View- part of the Orient Land Trust.  It is clothing optional so the boys were in heaven.
They even had a machine there doing some construction so it was double the fun.
Views of some of the pools there.

After Valley View we went to visit my mom and her friend Burt in Antonito, CO.  He taught me how to drive his four wheeler and I took the boys for a ride.  Another bit of heaven for them.

 Out on the ranch.

"You get a line and I'll get a pole honey.  We'll go down to the crawdad hole  honey, oh baby, mine."

Some strange space ship looking house in Antonito.
 Oldest Church in Colorado.
Gator park outside Alamosa, CO.  Lots of fun.  The gator there hang out in natural occurring geothermal pools there.  Kinda crazy.

Independence Pass.  Driving back to Carbondale
