Kai ends this month 3 whole months old, weighing 16 pounds, and 25 inches long. He truly is a little chunker.
This has been a great month. We have had many adventures and visitors. My sister came out and had a jewelry show in Crested Butte. We had our first trip as a family down there. Then my mom and I went down to the Boulder area and stayed in a beautiful cabin in Allenspark, just outside of the Rocky Mountain Natl. Park. It was while staying there that I saw the fireball. Kai and I were sleeping in a room that was all windows. At 4:15 in the morning Kai woke up crying. When I opened my eyes the whole room was lit up with super bright white light. I thought this strange since we were way out in the country, away from any cities or roads. When I looked out the window I saw this orange and red ball of fire with a super long tail trailing across the sky. In my excitement, I couldn't go back to sleep thinking I might see another one. I thought for sure it would be on the news the next day, but I found nothing. I looked on the internet at all sorts of meteor shower pics and finally saw this one and was so excited to show people what I had seen. I thank Kai for waking me up for such a spectacular site.
As you will see from our pictures, we went on our first camping trip. Some girlfriends and I rented a Yurt in Eagle, CO. We were also visited by Kai's Nana and Uncle Erik.
We are doing great as a family. The weather is still hot but Kai and I are getting out for more hikes. He is a little trooper. We are sending you all lots of love from the Rockies.

This is a picture of a fireball that I saw during the meteor shower in August.
I did not take this picture, but I looked on the internet until I saw a picture of
what I had seen and this was it!
This is Kai's rainbow bridge to this earthly world. Jeff saw this rainbow two days before Kai was born. It is pretty special being horizontal.

Dear Friends and Family,
My goal is to give you monthly updates. At least for a little while. This past month has been much easier than last month. Kai is now 2 months old and is growing VERY quickly. He is now around 14 pounds and 23 inches long. As you will see from the pictures he is chunking out.
He is getting very close to sleeping through the night, which I am looking forward to. He slept through once last week and has been pretty close this whole week, only needing to wake up once to eat.
I have been feeling much more energetic and have been getting out hiking, walking and dancing NIA again. It feels great!
This month has been quiet as far as visitors have gone, which has been nice. It has given us a chance as a family to be together and relax.
In August we expect visits from Unchi (Kai's grandma Deborah), aunt Jess and uncle Ash, Nana Jackson, Uncle Erik, and Grandpa Michael. Kai is very excited to see these relatives and hopes to see all his others soon.
We wish you all well and hope you enjoy the new pictures.
