I guess I know where Kai got his love of dressing up. I had fun dressing up for our local Freaker's Prom- a benefit for our local arts and humanities.
This is a picture Kai drew of Jeff and I on our wedding day. Pretty darn cute.
This is Jeff and his band - The Optimators- named after the beer. They have had a few gigs in town and always pack the place!
Jeff's mom sent Jeff's old cub scout shirt and belt. Kai was psyched to say the least. He wore the shirt the next day to school.
Put a lime in the coconut and drink it all up.
Mayfaire is always a festive time. The boys enjoyed making flower crowns and fairy/gnome homes.
We happened upon this super large flip flop as we passed a shoe store. What could make a better boat?
Spring has finally sprung and with it came a visit from my dear sister Jenny from New Zealand
Badger likes to join us at the table sometimes. Below a spring storm comes in. Yeah for the extra water!
Music Together class with Pasha. What a treat.
Isaac graduated from his daycare. We will miss Ms. Heidi and look forward to preschool next fall.
Kai's 6th birthday! To celebrate on his actual day, we had Huckleberry Pie and vanilla ice cream. A Hobbit favorite for sure.
Above- Uncle Love
Below- The Boys! Uncle E., Papa, Pasha, Kai and Isaac.
Let the Hobbit Party Begin.
To prepare for their adventure, each child decorated a sword to protect them on their way.
It is always a good idea to practice your swordsmanship before a grand adventure.
Gandalf visits and Isaac is not so sure he likes him.
The Hobbits are hooded and the adventure begins with Gandalf in the lead.
Fishing in Golum's Pond
Guess what's in its pocketses. A magic ring? Yesssssss
Now with their magic invisibility rings, they are able to visit Smaug's lair undetected and dig for a special treasure.
The Elveen Queen, Gandalf and all the little Hobbits.
Hobbit food. Sam's carrots, Thorin's bacon wrapped dates, Gandalf's smoke rings (round pretzels), Bifur's mini chicken pot pie pockets, Golum's gold rings (dried apple rings), Mountain Trail mix, Bilbo's cheese wheels and Hobbit Stew. A delectable feast!
Each child made a wish on Gandalf's staff.
The Shire birthday cake.
Pasha enjoying some grapes.
Opening gifts
Hobbiting around
Gandalf, the Elveen Queen and the little Hobbits
Hiking with Uncle E.
Our new swarm of bees. Above- They were just put into the hive box. Below- You know you have the queen when bees come out and stick their bottoms in the air and fan. They are fanning the queen pheromone out saying, "Hey all you stragglers, she is in here."
Kai got this crazy contraption from Pasha. It is called the
Green Machine. His fancy dino helmet was his gift from
Uncle E.
Not to be left out. Isaac got a shark helmet. These boys ride in style.
My little gardner. Watering the plum tree.
The hobbit play continues.
Kai lovin' on Uncle E. We are so glad he and Pasha made the trip out for Kai's special day.
Thank you!
Dinner out with friends.
