Kai and Isaac love to play Hide and Seek. As you can see, Isaac found a very good hiding spot.
Isaac has developed a very strong love of doing puzzles.
I wish I could remember what Kai told me he was in this picture.
Look at the different types of honey we got from our beehive this year. All three taste amazing. The darkest one is almost like molasses.
Kai is felting his egg in a sock. It helps little hands hold the felt together better until the fibers begin to hold.
We tried dying eggs with many different things. One was Kool-Aid. I cannot believe that people actually let their kids drink this stuff. Look at what it does to you hands! When the boys smelled the kool-aid, they said, "Yum, can we drink this.?" I said, "No, that would be yucky because it is for dying Easter eggs."
Below, we tried dying eggs with shaving cream and food coloring to get a marbled look. It was okay, but not as cool as I thought. We won't be using this way again.
Always good to be a basket head :)
Easter morning breakfast. Egg and cheese english muffin.
Easter time is the time for eggs, the time for eggs is Easter time!
So, Easter Eve I spent an hour squeezing brownie mix into blown out eggs for the Easter egg hunt. What a great surprise to see eggs you decorated that all the sudden had chocolate brownie in them. Super yummy!
Kai just all the sudden started copying everything he saw. This says "Happy" written left to right and then "Easter" written right to left.
Aunt Becky and Uncle Jason got Kai a glider for Easter. It can fly and he loves it.
Hammock fun.
Rest time.
This is Kai's diving outfit. See the diving helmet and breathing tube?
We had so many adventures over our two week spring break. We had a "Staycation" and loved every bit of it. First adventure - lunch with our good friends at the train station after a morning swimming in the Glenwood hotsprings pool.
Second adventure - an extensive tour and ride on Carbondale's brand new hook and ladder truck. I tell you, it pays to live in a small town where there is time for the firemen to do this.
Third adventure - trip to get mama's snow tires off. We went to eat at the Red Rock Diner while we waited and saw John Wayne in the bathroom. Fancy that!
Oh yeah, that day included a trip to the park too. Kai is seen above being the Statue of Liberty. Below, the boys are digging with the beautiful Mt. Sopris in the background.
They learned to play horseshoes from a nice man walking by with his dog.
Fourth adventure- Exploring our backyard. We call this the canyon trail. It is a beautiful hike up Potato Bill Creek (the creek that runs through our property).
Kai and his friend digging for fossils.
Fifth adventure - Ride in the gondola to the Fairy Caves.
These boys were cracking me and themselves up with these funny mirrors. They have never seen anything like this and it provided quite a long time of entertainment.
These caves truly amazed me. Glenwood has been rated one of the top places to vacation in the nation. So...I decided to see why. We explored many of the tourist attractions and had a blast. Below you see the fairy in the cave. The silly picture of the boys is overlooking Glenwood springs with Mt. Sopris way in the background on the far left.
Sixth adventure - Trip to Sustainable Settings. A local (1/2 mile from our house) farm providing workshops on permaculture, sustainability, beekeeping, fermentation and lots of other great stuff that we love and support.
When Kai saw these turkeys he said, "Mama, that turkey is hurting the other one." I just let that comment be and when the girl got up I said, "It looks like she is okay."
So during the two week break I did a raw food cleanse. These are a few of our favorite meals I "cooked." Above - tacos. Below in order- Pad Thai with zucchini noodles, seed and nut burger on some super yummy sunflower bread, and everyone's favorite - chocolate dip(avocados, honey, carob powder) and strawberries.
Always safe in our house with the Super Brothers!
Kai's tree with sky and grass
Kai practicing name along with other words he copied from his legos.
A turkey and a wizard
A black and a red widow.
Above is a crab/octopus or crabopus, below left- a bear, below right - an ant and below this writing- a train. Kai just now started to draw a lot and these are all his latest creations. He has made a book out of his drawings.
Our latest storm. This storm started last week and continues. Snow melts and it comes again. We are very grateful for the moisture it brings and look forward to green everything and lots of spring and summer flowers.
The other day they had HUGE artichokes on sale at Whole Foods. The boys hadn't had them in a long time and thought they were the world's greatest food ever. LOVE!

Below - Isaac loves him some beer. Jeff gives him the last tiny sip and as you can see, that boy tries to get every last drop. Hmmmm!
In the picture below that Isaac is showing Nana the card she sent him for Easter. So fricken cute that he thinks she can see it through the phone.

I have been exploring with new and different foods. This was a keeper of a recipe. Cauliflower crust pizza. All love it and had no clue. Super yum. I promise.
