HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!These moments when both boys are down for the night and I have some time for myself are cherished. Did anyone ever say parenting was easy? They must have been joking if there ever was anyone.
Kai is doing great with Isaac and now includes him in everything and wants to know where he is at all times. At 3 1/2 he pushes the limits over and over and has a will like no other. The so called "terrible twos" had nothing on "threes." Today Kai was talking about his friend Harper who just got a new brother and sister (twins). Kai said that he wanted a sister too and said, "You need to grow your belly out again so I can have a little sister." If only he knew how much energy he requires alone, let alone 2 babies.
Christmas was a big deal this year. Kai was fully into the decorating, songs and presents. He was all about Christmas songs and learned many by heart. His favorites are: The drummer boy, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Silent Night. There is a line in the little drummer boy song that goes, "Mary nodded parumpapapum." I over heard Kai telling one of his stuffed animals a story about baby Jesus, Joseph and Mary Nod. Pretty darn cute.
We celebrated Christmas in Dallas with Jeff's family. It was nice to be back down in Texas for a little while. Jeff had to get back to work and I needed to visit my grandmother Gloria, whose health has not been so good. Since I felt that traveling with two young ones would be too much, Jeff's parents were angels and kept Kai while Isaac and I went up to New England to visit the Nouri clan and be with Gloria. Jenny flew over from New Zealand and it was wonderful getting to be with her again. It has been 4 years since we last saw each other. Way too long!!! Next trip is to New Zealand!
Isaac is growing so fast. He loves to watch and listen to Kai. He is full of smiles and since his first giggles on Dec. 20th, he has been giggling a lot since. He continues to live up to his name which means laughter.
Wishing you all a joy filled new year.
