The Birth of Kai Fletcher Jackson aka Jupiter Blue Moon Jackson

Dear Friends and Family,
Jeff and I are happy to announce the birth of our baby boy.
Kai Fletcher Jackson was born on the Blue Moon - Thurs. May 31st at 8:49am. He was 7 lbs 9.5 oz and 19.5 inches long. My labor was a long 35 hours, but I cannot complain. Jeff and I laugh because when asked when I thought the baby would be born, I said I thought he would be born on Thurs. Why Thursday? The first reason is that as a nickname, we started calling the baby Jupiter when he was in my belly. So it only seemed appropriate that the baby be born on Thursday - Jupiter day!! The second reason is that Thurs. was the blue moon (the second full moon of the month) and that just seemed like a cool time to be born.
When I went into labor on Tues. (Our Anniversary), we thought, oh well, just two days earlier than my prediction. I had talked to the baby before I had gone into labor asking him to please save the 29th for his momma and pappa for our anniversary and then he could come whenever after that. As the hours of labor continued to go on, we had to laugh and say, "Well Hannah, you did ask the baby not to come on the 29th and you did predict the 31st, so there you have it, the baby listened."
Birth is an incredible and powerful journey. If you already haven't learned to let go of what or how you thought things would go, it forces you to let go, surrender to what is, and to be totally present and focused on one thing. It is a meditation, a going in.
We feel blessed to join the millions of moms and dads in this amazing journey of raising a child.
Thank you all for your blessings, gifts and love.
Love, Hannah, Jeff, Kai and Badger
